Work setup before scenery

Community without a promise

Coliving can make introductions and shared plans easier. It cannot guarantee friendship, a particular number of events, or a fixed household mood.

At Banana House, activities are encouraged and optional. Organising shared dinners can be part of the community support; groceries and restaurant-style meal service are not included. A resident can join plans or keep a quiet week.

That is a more useful expectation than generated guest stories or claims about what “most people” do.

Transport and daily life

Ponta do Sol can support work, groceries, food, and sea-level village life without a daily car. Independent trailheads and cross-island days need more planning. Funchal is easier for public transport and urban nightlife.

Build the real monthly budget

The headline rent is only one line. Include groceries, eating out, transport, coworking if wanted, insurance, phone data, activities, deposits, and a contingency.

Is Ponta do Sol the right base?

Choose it for a compact village routine, quieter ordinary evenings, a southwest location, and deliberate island days. Choose Funchal for the widest city services, public transport, and late options. Choose another town when surf, a particular landscape, or a local commitment is the priority.
