Purple Friday Madeira is a known event name associated with Ponta do Sol and the island’s remote-work community. It should not be treated as a guaranteed event every Friday. Confirm the exact date, venue, organiser, ticket, and entry terms through a current official listing before travelling.

How to verify a date

• the same venue;
• free entry;
• no registration;
• a fixed start or finish;
• a public rather than private event.

Tickets and entry

Use only the ticket or registration link supplied by the current organiser. Check the event date, venue, refund terms, age rules, and what the ticket actually includes.

A screenshot, forwarded message, or old Eventbrite page can point to a past edition. Never send payment to a personal account solely because an informal post creates urgency.

Capacity rules can make registration necessary even when admission costs nothing. “Free” and “no ticket required” are not the same statement.

What to expect

The format can change. Depending on the edition, it may be a social gathering, music-led night, community event, or a programme with a separate after-event. The current listing should set the expectation.

Wear what is comfortable for the named venue and weather. Bring proof of registration if requested. Respect hotel, residential, and local noise rules; Ponta do Sol remains a small village around any event.

Getting there and home
